Five rulings from a hands-on pass over the deployed build change what the
design document says. This issue is the amendment; every other issue in this
milestone depends on it and implements against the amended text.

Nothing here changes code. Do not implement any of the behaviour described —
the issues that do are named against each section.

§4.1 — the seeding reveal is not a reveal

auto_track reads as a rule about future seasons, but the first metadata
refresh of a newly added series classifies every season as newly revealed,
so adding a series with the rule on tracks its whole back catalogue. Rick and
Morty came in with all nine seasons tracked and 91 episodes wanted.

Record the ruling: seasons revealed by a series' first refresh are never
tracked by auto_track. The rule applies from the second refresh onward, so it
only ever covers seasons that appear after the series was added. Back-catalogue
seasons are picked by hand. Season 0 stays excluded as it is today.

Implemented by the auto_track issue in this milestone.

§4.2 — the status palette becomes a state ramp

The current text and the stylesheet both commit to "informational, never a
severity ramp — activity in the channel-violet family, satisfaction in
neutrals". Reverse it: chips carry state colour.

  • on disk / complete: green (--signal-ok)
  • wanted but not yet found: amber (--signal-warn)
  • downloading: violet (--status-airing)
  • untracked: neutral
  • TMDB rating stars: amber

The word stays present in every chip, so state still survives with colour
removed. That part of the current reasoning holds and belongs in the amended
text.

Implemented by the chip-colour issue in this milestone.

§9.2 — when an episode row surfaces

"for TV also episode title, so bluey hospital finds the episode" is
implemented as a match against series title || ' ' || episode title, so
searching a series title returns the series and every one of its episodes.

Record the ruling: an episode row surfaces only when the query matches
something beyond the series title. A query satisfied by the series title alone
returns the series row and nothing below it.

Implemented by the search issue in this milestone.

§9.6 — no cast

Drop the cast list and cast photos from title detail. The section is noise at
the top of a page whose job is deciding what to grab. Poster, backdrop, rating,
runtime, genres, tagline, overview, the outbound links and the trailer chip all
stay.

Implemented by the cast-removal issue in this milestone.

Ordering

Seasons within a series and episodes within a season are returned newest-first.
State it wherever the season tree is described.

Implemented by the ordering issue in this milestone.

Non-goals

  • No code, no migrations, no stylesheet edits.
  • arr-meta keeps requesting credits in append_to_response. The TMDB call
is unchanged by the §9.6 amendment — only what the UI and the API expose.
